Sunrises and Sunsets; meditations from Psalm 68
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy! (Psalm 65:8b)
This psalm tells us how involved God is with creation, even down to how days begin and end on earth. The Psalmist specifically uses sunrises and sunsets as examples of creation praising its great God. It got me thinking, what else does God want sunrises and sunsets to do?
SUNRISE: A PICTURE OF GOD'S REIGN
2 Samuel 23:3-4
The God of Israel has spoken;
the Rock of Israel has said to me:
When one rules justly over men,
ruling in the fear of God,
he dawns on them like the morning light,
like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning,
like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.

as the spring rains that water the earth.

Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision, and darkness to you, without divination. The sun shall go down on the prophets, and the day shall be black over them;
