Stephen Westerholm: NT Scholar and uncle
Growing up, I always thought my family was strange. Even though my grandpa was a pastor, my dad was a pastor, one uncle taught the bible and wrote accademic books, my aunt was a Christian Education director, and my other uncle taught English at a Christian college.
Whenever we got together, though, we talked about baseball.
It turns out, my uncle is a world-class New Testament scholar who has played a crucial role in the defense of an orthodox study of Pauline theology. Who knew?
And now, his book has been named by Preaching Magazine as one of the 10 books preachers must read in 2005.
Congratulations, Uncle Steve, and I'm sorry about your favorite Baltimore Orioles.
