The Ministry: encouragement from 2 Corinthians

I just finished a pretty indepth trip through Second Corinthians. My tour guide (via book) was Murray Harris, whose NIGTC is AMAZING.

I was deeply impacted (and encouraged) by what Paul wrote about ministry. Here's some quotes from the early part of the book.

1:9 [difficult circumstances came] to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

1:12 we behaved with simplicity and godly sincerity

1:24 we work with you for your joy

2:17 we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity...we speak in Christ.

3:12 we are very bold

4:2 We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of truth we would commend ourselves to everyone]

4:16 we do not lose heart

5:6 we are of good courage

5:9 we make it our aim to please him.

5:11 we persuade others.
